This qualification is designed for those working in, or preparing to work in, an industry that involves the retail sale of alcohol and is a prerequisite for anyone who wishes to hold a personal licence. Anyone wishing to sell or authorise the sale of alcohol by retail on licenced premises must hold a personal licence.
Event professionals organising events selling alcohol and/or providing entertainment, such as music, dancing or indoor sporting events are encouraged to obtain a personal licence.
Persons gaining this qualification will understand the main requirements of the Licensing Act 2003, the importance of promoting licensing objectives and the legal responsibilities of a personal licence holder.
The course is assessed by a multiple choice written assessment and there is a minimum age requirement of learners being 18 years of age or above.
It will be necessary for you to bring along photographic identification to enable you to sit the examination in the form of a valid passport, signed UK photo card driving licence, valid warrant card issued by HM Forces, Police or current employee ID card, student ID card or travel card with photo.
A buffet lunch will be provided together with a course handbook.
